Renovation of the Maréchal’s room
Among the worksites completed despite the shock of spring, the Maréchal’s bedroom. Nicolas du Blé maréchal d’Huxelles was one of Louis XIV’s trusted men during the difficult moments at the end of his reign. Exiled to Cormatin, in the south of Burgundy, by the Regent, he stayed there for 6 years.
This room was his representation room but he had a low-ceilinged apartment upstairs to withstand the Burgundian winters.
